This Privacy Policy describes how TranslateAI ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our AI-powered translation service ("Service"). By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We collect the following types of information: a) ACCOUNT INFORMATION: Email address, password (hashed), and profile information you provide. b) CONTENT DATA: Manuscripts, books, and other content you upload for translation, as well as the translated output. c) USAGE DATA: Pages visited, features used, translation jobs initiated, and interaction patterns. d) PAYMENT INFORMATION: Payment information is collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. e) DEVICE & TECHNICAL DATA: IP addresses, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and other technical information. f) TRANSLATOR APPLICATION DATA: Language proficiency information, quiz results, and professional background.

We use your information to: - Provide, maintain, and improve the Service - Process translations and deliver results - Process payments and manage your account - Communicate with you about the Service - Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and security threats - Comply with legal obligations - Analyze usage patterns and improve user experience We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties, use your uploaded content to train our own AI models, or share your content with other users without your consent.

Your information may be shared with: a) AI PROVIDERS: Google (Gemini API) and/or OpenAI for translation processing. b) PAYMENT PROCESSOR: Stripe processes all payments. c) HOSTING: Google Cloud Platform and Vercel for data storage and processing. d) AUTHENTICATION: Supabase for authentication and database services. e) HUMAN TRANSLATORS: If you opt for human post-editing, relevant content will be shared with the assigned translator. f) LEGAL REQUIREMENTS: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. g) BUSINESS TRANSFERS: In the event of a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred.

We implement reasonable security measures including encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL), encryption of sensitive data at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. You acknowledge and accept this risk when using the Service.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service: - Account information: Until account deletion - Uploaded content and translations: Until you delete them or account termination - Usage data: Up to 24 months - Payment records: As required by tax regulations (typically 7 years) - Communication records: Up to 36 months

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to: access, correct, delete, port your data, object to processing, restrict processing, and withdraw consent.
